12 Devonshire Street has a rich history dating back to its construction just before the First World War as a private home. Over the years, it has served as a medical facility and the Chilean Embassy before becoming the base for our London studio. The recent refurbishment was driven by the need to refresh and modernise the space while respecting its character.
The project introduced a new colour palette, new finishes and upgraded lighting throughout, creating a brighter and more flexible environment. Energy-efficient LED track lighting replaced recessed fixtures, allowing spaces to adapt for different uses and artworks to stand out. Dark blue walls in the atrium create a striking backdrop for project photography, encouraging visitors and employees alike to stop and enjoy. Lighter, vibrant tones in offices and meeting rooms encourage creativity, while new carpets, a refreshed kitchen and shower room, and dedicated breakout areas enhance comfort and improve the end-of-trip experience. The revitalised space supports a new hotdesking system, improving flexibility and fluidity of team working and allowing visitors to work from the studio with ease.
The result is a warm, welcoming workplace that balances functionality with the building’s residential origins. Delivered within budget and during working hours, the refurbishment reflects our evolving practice, transforming the headquarters into an inviting hub of collaboration and creativity.
